HIGHLY rated full back Aaron Sinclair gave Partick Thistle a boost this week when he announced he has extended his contract and will stay with the club for the next two seasons.
Sinclair (21) has been in outstanding form - though he may not appear again this season after he left Cappielow on crutches following an ankle injury in Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat.
X-ray results were due as Herald Sport went to press, and manager Jackie McNamara expressed anger that a heavy challenge by Grant Evans, which led to Sinclair’s injury, went unpunished.
He said: “Aaron’s not looking too good. That was yet another challenge that went unpunished, where as our boys seemed to pick up easy bookings rather than get a bad challenge against them.”
One highlight was the introduction of youngster Caolan McAleer, making his Jags debut.
McNamara said: “I just felt that the young lad could learn, he could get on the ball in an area where we thought we could penetrate them.”
Partick are at home to Raith Rovers on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3pm.
