Partick Thistle cut Inverness to pieces

Inverness CT 0

Partick Thistle 4

Two goals from Ryan Stevenson in the first half and one-a-piece from Gary Fraser and Conrad Balatoni saw Jags shatter Inverness’s unbeaten home record.

Both teams were intent on playing controlled football which made for an entertaining game.

Stevenson was alert to take advantage of Gallacher’s hesitancy for the opening goal after just 11 minutes. Goalkeeper Dean Brill should have dealt with a cross into the six-yard box but he hesitated, allowing Stevenson to pounce.

The second came in the 40th minute when Kallum Higginbotham squared to Stevenson, who guided a sublime 18-yard effort into the bottom corner of the home sides net.

Four minutes into the second half and Stevenson was at it again, but this time as the provider for Fraser to head home off the underside of the bar.

Any notion that it was not going to be the home side’s day ended when Raven lashed a 40-yard shot into the net only for a team-mate to be ruled offside.

But Balatoni nodded in Stuart Bannigan’s corner to compound Inverness’s misery.
