Thistle manager Alan Archibald completed his fourth summer signing with former St Johnstone defender Gary Miller this week.
The 28-year-old defender joins fellow new signings Callum Booth, Tomas Cerny and David Amoo, and signed a one year deal earlier this week. However Miller is no stranger to the club, having spent much of the pre-season build up with it.
Archibald said of the latest signing to the squad: “The addition of the experienced six foot defender to the Thistle squad ahead of the start of the new season, which is now just under two weeks away, is a major boost and we wish Gary well for what we are sure will be a successful spell at Firhill.”
Miller was on hand to help the club launch their away strip at Firhill this week. He was also in action as a sub in Tuesday night’s home 1-1 friendly against Wigan.
Commenting on this he said: “It was good to make my debut at Firhill and get out there in front of the home fans. I really enjoyed the match and it was good to get out there and test yourself against a team like that.”
However the player admits fitness is the most important thing in all pre-season matches, adding, “We are obviously still going through pre-season but it was a good test and I thought we did really well.
Pre-season is always about just getting fit.”
