Nine golds for Milngavie martial artists

MILNGAVIE martial art students have won a total of nine golds in two recent competitions.

In the ISKA Qualifiers for The World Championships in Wishaw, Joanne Gillespie won two golds, and Paul McInnes, Lynn McQueen, and Mark Russell brought home one each for the club who train at Milngavie Community Education Centre at the end of last month.

Then, representing Scotland against England at the IAKSA championships at Scotstoun Leisure Centre in Glasgow on June 10, Joanne picked up another two golds, with fellow Kun Gek Do member Jacqueline Gray also wining two.

The newly formed club, also picked up two silvers and two bronze medals at Scotstoun, in the event organised by on behalf of Martial Arts Illustrated Magazine.
