Top indoor sports climber Natalie Berry won an individual gold at the British Universities Climbing Series in Sheffield on Saturday.
The 22-year-old from Bearsden, currently in her fourth year at Edinburgh University, said: “I’m really happy because it is my last year at university so will not be eligible next year. There was some tough competitors, especially from the younger age group. All the training over the last month has paid off.”
Last year Natalie picked up silver in the individual and team categories and gold the previous year in the individuals.
The former Bearsden Academy pupil said: “The qualifiers were tough, but the final was the hardest I’ve competed in. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder so was recovering from that, which made the win even more satisfying.”
