Members of Garscube Harriers did their bit to spread a little Christmas cheer last weekend with its own special ‘Santa dash’ - and at the same time raised at least £400 for a worthy cause.

The club held its annual Christmas race in Bearsden in aid of Campsie View, a school attended by Garscube runner Fiona Maurer’s six-year-old son Ethan.

Fione said: “I was delighted when Garscube Running Club approached me to raise money for my son Ethan’s school at this year’s annual Santa Dash.

“Ethan, age six, has Pitt Hopkins Syndrome and attends Campsie View in Lenzie, a small specialist state school that supports age two to 18-year-olds with complex learning and development needs within East Dunbartonshire. It is wonderful that Garscube is supporting local charities and additionally supporting its own members.”
