The tennis achievements of 10-year-old Antony Sheridan over the past 12 months were recognised when he was named as the winner of Bearsden Tennis Club’s Most Improved Player of the Year award.

Antony was presented with the Barry Morris Salver by club president Dr Paul Thomson after being revealed as the winner of the accolade at the club’s recent agm.

He was chosen for his remarkable progress in the past year and the results he has achieved in his age group.

He reached the semi-final of the LTA level 4 Summer Series Tournament at Bearsden, only narrowly losing to the top seed who won the event.

In match play he regularly beats older players and has done well in team matches against 12-year-old players.

And when he plays at the club people often comment on his skills and competitive play.
