MILNGAVIE Olympian Imogen Bankier is back in action after a post-Olympic break.
The badminton player will team up with England’s Chris Adcock in the first event of the new season - the Yonex Denmark Open from October 16-21.
The mixed doubles pair have not played together since the Olympic Games in which they lost their two opening games to Germany. They will return to action as No. 8 seeds in Odense.
However the draw has landed them a tough first-round test against Thailand’s world No.22 pair Songphon Anugritayawon and Kunchala Voravichitchaikul.
Bankier and Adcock met the Thai pair just once last year claiming a 24-22 21-19 victory on the way to their Yonex BWF World Championships silver medal at Wembley Arena.
The Anglo-Scottish duo, who are ranked 18th in the world, are also in the same half of the draw as China’s world no. 1 pair and Olympic champions Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei, who they could meet in the quarter-finals.
COURTING SUCCESS . . . Olympian Imogen Bankier is back in action as the badminton season kicks off again.
