Marathon effort from Garscube athletes

Garscube Harriers athlete Barry Queen was in action on Saturday in the Jedburgh Three Peaks Ultra race over the distance of 38 miles finishing in a time of 7 hours 29 minutes.

Meanwhile in the Victoria Park parkrun, Stephen Porteous set a new PB time of (17-43), to win the race.

Again on Saturday, 41 runners represented Garscube at the National Relays Championships held in Cumbernauld. On Sunday, October 19 at the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, Garscube senior runner John McLaughlin completed the 26-2 miles in a time of (3-02-24 ). And in the Mizuno Amsterdam Half Marathon, Kath Scott finished in a time of (1-30-44), and Kieran McLaughlin finished in a time of (1-39-15).

Closer to home at the SVHC track 10k Championships in Coatbridge, Alex Chalmers won the bronze medal finishing in 3rd position in a time of (36-12 ), Dave Dickson finished in 10th position in a time of (38-41).
