WITH more and more people using the hills, good navigation is a skill that everyone can benefit from.
The Mountaineering Council of Scotland is holding a series of one day sessions in September that will look at the basics of map reading and taking a compass bearing. The event is in the Campsies.
MCofS Mountain Safety Adviser Heather Morning said: “This is a great chance for hill walkers to brush up on their navigation skills.”
Participants must be at least 18 and it costs £35 for MCofS members and £45 for non-members.
