THIS week’s league programme was disrupted by the wet weather and only two matches were played.
Kelvindale v Lenzie, Maryhill v Killermont and Claremont v Hyndland all had to be postponed and these fixtures will now be rearranged.
The two matches that were played involved four of the five top placed clubs and these games turned out to be real crackers.
Westerton and Bearsden played for double points and this match could not have been tighter. It finished with honours completely even, both clubs securing four points, with the individual rink scores being 12 shots to 11 and 11 shots to 12.
The other match played was Milngavie versus Barr & Stroud and here the points were also shared but, in contrast, this was a high scoring match, with individual rink scores of 28 shots to 4 and 9 shots to 21.
After 12 weeks, the league table reads Killermont and Milngavie joint top with 32 points, followed by Barr & Stroud on 31. Westerton are next on 30 with Bearsden now on 27.
The remaining places are unchanged from last week with Lenzie and Hyndland each on 20, then Maryhill, 14, Claremont, 12 and Kelvindale, 8. It should be noted that Killermont and Milngavie are now the clubs in contention with games in hand.
