Jags on cloud nine as they look for an unbeaten eighth against Morton

PARTICK ThisTLE manager Jackie McNamara says it feels great to be managing a club who have not lost a single league game this season and puts the success down to how the squad have gelled together.

Thistle remain unbeaten after seven league outings and have secured 19 points out of a possible 21 on offer - dropping their first two points in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park.

McNamara said: “It’s great to be in this position but we are not getting ahead of ourselves.

“It’s still early in the season and we will just take every game as it comes and deal with that.”

But he was understandably pleased with the performance to date, adding: “The way we are playing at the moment is giving us confidence and everyone is playing their part.”

But he reckoned it had taken some time for the players he has brought in to gel with existing team members.

However McNamara was not prepared to single out individual players, adding: “They have all done their part and gelled together really well.

“The players who have come in get on really well with the rest of the squad and that is a big part of our success.”

On Saturday Thistle travel to play Morton and McNamara believes it will be a tight game.

He said: “They have won four of their games this season so it will be tricky going there.

“We expect it will be a very physical game.”

The kick-off on Saturday is at 3pm.
