PARTICK THISTLE manager Jackie McNamara is delighted with his club’s pre-season progress.

On Monday night, the Jags hammered Ayr United 4-1, with goals from Sean Welsh, Christie Elliott and a superb double from new signing Steven Lawless.

The former Motherwell star has now scored three goals in two pre-season games and is fast endearing himself to the Firhill fans.

McNamara said: “I’m pleased with how things are progressing on the park and now we have an even bigger test this weekend with the ARR Craib Cup tournament at Firhill.

“Not only will the players find themselves up against tough opposition, it’s also back to back games, Saturday and Sunday, so everyone in the squad will play their part.”

Tickets for the ARR Craib Cup tournament are now on sale at Firhill.

Anyone wishing to buy individual Day Passes - for the Saturday or Sunday - or a full Weekend Pass can do so at the stadium offices between 9.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The club will also be operating cash turnstiles on both days (Saturday 21 and Sunday 22).

Sunday’s action is FREE to all Jags season ticket holders, but you’ll need a ticket to see Saturday’s games - Partick Thistle v Celtic XI at 12 noon and Everton XI v Airdrie Utd also at Firhill at 2.45pm.

A day pass for either Saturday or Sunday costs £15 for adults and £10 for concessions, with a weekend pass costing £25 for adults and £15 for concessions. Proof of concession must be shown.
