It’s three ’n easy as Harrier Paul romps home

PAUL CARROLL was first Clydesdale Harrier to cross the finishing line at the Irvine Athletics Club 5 Miler in 28mins 31secs.

He was followed by Pamela McCrossan (33.35) and Colin Gray (41.28).

Paul was also the fastest club runner in the Dundee Half Marathon over what was a very hilly course. His 1hr 20mins 22secs won him 1st veteran over 35.Next Harrier across the line was Kevin Farmer (1.29.20) followed by Stuart Allison (1.33.17), Marina McCallum (1.36.43 and 3rd vet over 35), Christine Duncanson (1.49.16), and Marie Rippon (2.02.39).

In the Clydestride 40 Ultra Race John Kennedy finished 8th overall in a time of 5hrs 48mins and winner of 1st veteran over 50.

Finally in the Sinclair Cup handicap race which was only open to club members, competitors competed over a two loop course covering a total of 5.4 miles. All times are actual times.

Again, Paul Carroll was the fastest club member in with his 31.33. Other men’s times were Brian Gallagher (34.10), Martin King (35.07), Paul McKendry (36.00), Stuart Allison (36.06), Alistair Greig (38.20), Peter Rudzinski (40.42), Watson Jones (40.50) and Stephen McKie (44.07).

Taking into account the handicaps Paul was the winner and Stuart Allison second.

Women’s times: Pamela McCrossan (35.45), Marina McCallum (36.29), Anne Murray (36.30), Fiona McCue (39.03), Christine Duncanson (41.24), Shirley Greig (42.01), Yvonne Green (42.27) and Marie Rippon (46.47). Again taking into account handicaps McCrossan was first and McCallum was runner-up.
