Imogen hoping for third badminton title in Dutch international

BADMINBTON champion Imogen Bankier is hoping to make it a hat-trick when she competes in this week’s Yonex Dutch International.

The Milngavie sportswoman, who won the French International mixed doubles title with Robert Blair in Orleans at the end of March and scooped the Finnish women’s doubles title with Bulgaria’s Petya Nedelcheva a week later, now heads for Wateringen for another title shot.

The Olympian and Nedelcheva are unseeded and start their challenge on Friday against Dutch pair Samantha Barning and Iris Tabeling.

A first-round win will earn them a second-round clash with second seeds Hui Ern Ng and Hui Lin Ng, the Malaysian sisters who were runners-up at the 2011 Scottish International Championships.
