Imogen and Bankier to tackl US Open

Milngavie’s Imogen Bankier and badminton partner Robert Blair will aim to build on their unbeaten display at the Sudirman Cup when they tackle the five day Yonex/OCBC US Open on Monday in Orange County, Florida.

The duo won all four of their mixed doubles matches in Kuala Lumpur recently and so far have one tournament title under their belt this year after winning the French International in Orleans.

In Orange County the unseeded Scots - who won the Scottish International title together in 2007 before Bankier switched to her 2011 world silver medal winning partnership with England’s Chris Adcock - start against Dutch pair Jacco Arends and Selena Piek and can expect to meet sixth seed Lee Hock Lai of the USA and Canadian Phyllis Chan if they come through the opening contest.
