Four Ladies from Hilton Park Golf Club have recently retained the Mosshead Trophy for their club.
This is a challenge trophy played between all the local golf clubs in the district, with each clubs taking it in turns to host the tournament.
This year the trophy was played at Clober Golf Club. A damp start turned into a beautiful autumn day with 8 teams taking part this year: Balmore, Bearsden, Buchanan Castle, Clober, Clydebank and District, Douglas Park, Hilton Park and Milngavie.
The format of the competition is a team of four players playing a stableford competition with the best two scores counting.
The Hilton Park team of Lindsay McCubbin, Fiona Alexander, Isobel Blackwood and Viv Mansouri emerged victors in a very tight competition scoring 92 points. In second place was Clydebank and District with 91 points and third place was Milngavie with 88 points.
The Ladies competition has been running since 2003 and the Mosshead Residents’ Association presented the trophy to winning club.
A Gents Trophy from the Residents Association has also become available and it is planned that next year a Gents competition along the same lines as the Ladies will be played.
