Taekwondo youngsters from the High School of Glasgow Junior School in Bearsden won a clutch of gold, silver and bronze medals after competing at the Scottish International Championships recently.
Medal winners, most of whom are aged seven, include:female individual poomsae (patterns) - under 9’s- Emma Dry, gold; male individual poomsae- under 9`s -Zander Buxton, gold; male individual poomsae – under 9`s -Jai Shergill bronze.
And in the pairs: under 13’s - Emma Dry/ Jai Shergill won gold and Emily Gill/Zander Buxton got silver.
Gabriel Ommer, 10, entered and won the male individual poomsae at Under 13`s Black Belt level.
A total of 34 countries competed at the event including England, Ireland, Iceland and the Isle of Man.
Sam Ommer instructor and parent, said: “This is a fantastic result considering the club has only been going for a year and a half. It is a privilege to teach such dedicated hard working children. To achieve such great success given their age and length of training, is all to their credit. I am very proud of all of them.”
