Harriers of all ages get into their stride

CLYDESDALE Harriers young and old took part in the Scottish Athletics League at Grangemouth on the weekend of the 14th.

Jonathan Farrell ran in the 100m and 200m to finish in 11.63 and 23.86 respectively. Ryan Nelson ran in the 100m (13.58), and the 1500m (4.53.12). Peter Bowman ran in the 400m (54.63), and the 800m (2.00.89).

Iain Robertson ran in the 400m (57.34), and the 800m (2.05.78). Connor Ewing ran in the 1500m (4.48.78). Lastly Paul Carroll ran the 10000m finishing in 36.00.71.

The 4x100 went well with Jonathan Farrell running first leg, changing to Ryan Nelson, changing to Iain Robertson, then finally Peter Bowman.

Total time was 51.26. The 4x400m had Peter Bowman running first leg followed by Connor Ewing, changing to Iain Robertson, then finally Ryan Nelson. Total time was 4.03.32.

Also that day was the Scottish Veteran Harriers Club Glasgow 800 Open 10k Road Race which took place in Pollock Park.

Fastest Harrier was Pamela McCrossan finishing as first veteran over 50 in a time of 41.19, followed by Marina McCallum (2nd vet 40 in 42.03), Pete Cartwright (42.48), Peter Rudzinski (46.01), Bobby Young (46.15), and Watson Jones (2nd vet 70 in 47.39).

Forthcoming events for the Harriers include the Paisley 10k (28th), Great Scottish Run Junior Run (3rd September), Half Marathon and 10k (September 4).
