Harrier Hugh’s personal best

CLYDESDALE Harriers Hugh Laverty finished The Newtonmore 10 Mile Road Race in a pb of 66mins.

In the Nigel Barge 10k at Garscube Sports Complex, Maryhill, Colin Gray finishing the undulating two loop course in 54mins 31secs.

Michael Divers travelled to Biggar to compete in the Chapelgill Hill Race where he finished 20th in a time of 28mins 8secs.

Gerry Montgomery was the fastest club runner in the 46th Round the Houses 10k starting next to Grangemouth Stadium and third veteran over 50 in 36mins 48secs. He was followed by Pamela McCrossan - third female veteran over 50 in 41mins 5secs and Yvonne Green 46.38.

Slightly further afield was the BMAF Cross Country Championships within the grounds of Bath University. Pete Cartwright finished the 6k course in 22.42 (4th M65), followed by Watson Jones (6th M70 in 25.20), and Bobby Young (20th M65 in 25.53). The three picked up the silver team medal for their excellent efforts

Next Harriers race is the Tom Scott Road Races over 10 Mile at Strathclyde Park on Sunday. The following Sunday is the Balloch to Clydebank Half Marathon and on the 22nd is the Virgin London Marathon.
