Players and officials with one of Kirkintilloch’s top amateur football teams will hit the long and winding road on Saturday when they travel to Campbeltown for a crucial sixth round Scottish Cup tie.
Harestanes Amateurs are no strangers to cup success. The Kirky side made footballing history when, under former manager Bobby Pullen, they lifted the trophy at Hampden Park in two consecutive seasons - 2002 and 2003.
Hares players and backroom staff know they will have a difficult job when they come up against Campbeltown on Saturday, but the team got a real boost with a derby clash 4-1 win over Kirkintilloch Miners last weekend.
A hat-trick from goal machine Jamie Broaddfoot and one from Declan Cairney secured the victory for Hares.
