Good results for Milngavie and Bearsden Swimming Club members in mini league tournament

Milngavie and Bearsden Swimming Club was celebrating recently after victory in the mini league which almost guarantees the club a place in the final with one round still to go.

The club made it two wins in a row - previously winnng round 1 - when, in Round 2 of the Clyde Coast mini league, the team performed well across the board with individual wins for a number of swimmers.

Among these were Anya MacLean, Tom Wicklow, Orla Johnson, Adam Kennedy, Jessica Cockburn, Coryn MacLean, Kirsty Wicklow, Daisy MacNulty, Ellis Sheils and Douglas Kelly.

The final scores were: Milngavie and Bearsden 155 points, Dumfries 138, South Ayrshire Swim Team 125

Scotia 84.

Adam Riley from the club said: “As this round was hosted by the club we want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped out with all the different jobs to make this meet run smoothly.

“Many swimmers and families gave up a beautiful day outside to come along to take part and support. It was well worth it as the club achieved their second win. There were many fantastic swims in not only the point scoring lane but also in the spare lane.”

Round 3 takes place on Sunday May 18 at Helensburgh Pool.
