Golf scores round-up

Bearsden Golf Club ladies’ section held its SLGA Medal last week. The SSS and CSS were 71 and 17 golfers took part. Results: Silver S. Mumford (20) 69, G. Campbell (15) 71, H. Faulds (5) 73. Bronze: V. Leitch (27) 74, L. Ash (34) 75, A. Stanger (36) 79. Scratch was H. Faulds 78.

MILNGAVIE GOLF Club ladies’ section held its autumn meeting and Phillips 2 competition. Results: Silver Division: Marion Mason 72, scratch winner Moira MacLeod 72. Bronze: Leslie Wilkie 76.

The men’s section also held its autumn meet last week with 108 golfers taking part. The SSS and CSS were 68 and scratch was Peter Hay with 67. Results: First class: Peter Hay 67 (3) 64, Ken Macaskill 75 (8) 67, Robert McCloskey 77 (9) 68. Second class. Robert MCGrory 78 (14) 64, Campbell Joss 80 (15) 65, Gordon Fairbrother 76 (10) 66. Third class: Duncan Morrison 88 (23) 65, David McGilchrist 84 (19) 65, John MCKerracher 88 (19) 69.

BALMORE Golf Club ladies’ section held its Invitation Day - Greensome Foursomes recently.

A total of 26 ladies took part. Results: Eleanor Starling and Helen Burnett 74, Christine Macpherson and Kay Gaston 76, scratch Miriam Dalglish and Sylvia McLean 91. Results: Centenary Claret Jug - Greensome Foursomes last Friday: Christine Macpherson and Elaine Storrie 72.8, Mary Fraser and Muriel Grieve 74.2, Carol Sim and Pen McKimmie 75.6.

Winners of the Captain’s, Vice Captains and Veterans Trophies were Matthew Anderson, Douglas Law and Gavin Steel respectively.

The ladies section in the club also held a Medal 10 and Golf Foundation Brooch competition last Friday. Results: Silver: Susan Rattray (19) 74, Rhona Murison (20) 78. Bronze: Elaine McEwen (35) 68, Irene Berry (21) 82. Winner of the Golf Foundation Brooch winner Elaine McEwen.
