Garscube Harriers runs win gold, silver and bronze medals

Garscube Harriers won gold, silver and bronze medals as well as securing some great team results in Saturday’s Scottish Athletics West District Cross Country Championships in Linwood.

A record entry of over 1000 runners competed in storm conditions.

In the U13 Girls Race run over a distance of 3-2k, in 43rd was Alexandra Jones (14-00 ), followed by 80th, Chiara Donnelly ( 16-26 ). U13 Boys Race run over the same distance, 2nd and Silver Medal winner Elliot Duff in a time of (11-17 ), 11th, Jack Trainer (11-57 ), 21st, Mackenzie Haldane ( 12-37 ), 24th, James Cathro (12-42). Elliot, Jack and Mackenzie won the Team Bronze medal.

U15 Girls Race run over a distance of 4k, 39th, Sophie Lathan ( 18-34 ), 51st, Claire McGonigle ( 19-18 ).

U15 Boys Race run over the same distance, 6th, Cody Stevenson ( 14-10 ), 26th, Arun Smith ( 15-16 ), 31st, Jack Cuthbertson ( 15-46 ), 34th, Ewan McArthur ( 15-50 ). Cody, Arun and Jack finished 6th in the team event.

U20 Ladies Race over a distance of 5k was won by Catriona Graves in a time of (19-46), 7th, Frances Brown (21-51). U20 Mens race run over a distance of 8k, Mathew O’Brien finished in 14th position in a time of (30-20). The Senior Ladies Race run over a distance of 6-4k, 30th, Marion Kelly (29-26), 59th Karen McIlvenna (32-10), 92nd, Caroline Dow (39-15). The Senior Mens race run over a distance of 10k, 25th, Neal Robertson (37-51), 38th, Del Young ( 39-01 ), 43rd, Alan Blair ( 39-15 ), 45th, Marco Consani ( 39-19 ), 57th and 2nd M45, Alex Chalmers ( 40-09 ), 62nd and 1st M55, Rob McLennan (40-28), 67th, John Bell (40-36), 89th, Barry Queen (41-49), 110th, Alex Chisholm (43-06), 113th, Dave Dickson (43-18), 133rd, John McLaughlin (44-57), 142nd, John Murray (45-14), 187th, John McManus (49-39), 202nd, Mark Cathro (51-52), 212th, Kieran McLaughlin (54-38), 213th, Peter Dow (54-46), 215th and 2nd M65, Tony Hall (55-25).

The Senior mens team of Neal, Del, Alan and Marco finished 4th in the team event, while Alex, Rob and John finished as the 5th Vet team.
