Garscube Harriers’ Catriona selected for Celtic Nations

FOLLOWING on from her success in the Scottish Athletics Inter District Cross Country race, Catriona Graves was selected for the Celtic Nations Cross Country Under 20 Women’s 4.9k race on Saturday, January 20 which was incorporated into the McCain UK Cardiff Cross Challenge.

Catriona finished second in the Celtic Nations race and eighth overall in a time of 19 minutes, 55 seconds.
Two Garscube Harriers young athletes competed in the McCain National Open Track and Field Meeting at the Emirates Arena.

Alastair Stanley was the winner of Section 4 of the 800 Metres in 2 minutes 00.04 seconds and Elliot Duff also came in first in Section 19 of the 800 Metres in 2 minutes 36.39 seconds. 
On the same day Garscube man Marco Consani set a race PB of 16 minutes 48 seconds when finishing in third place out of 157 runners in the Strathclyde parkrun 5k race and four members of the club turned out for the Glasgow parkrun 5k race at Pollok Park.

Stephen Wilson was first to finish in 80th place in a time of 22 minutes 09 seconds followed by: 165th Emma Wilson - 24:19 (race PB), 349th Derek Buchanan - 30:12 and 375th Andrew Bell - 31:17. 440 runners completed the race.
