There was a silver medals for Garscube Harriers runner Catriona Graves and Rob McLellan at the Scottish 4k National Cross Country event at Bellahouston Park on Sunday.
Catriona set the tone by finishing in 9th position during the Senior U20 Womans race and 2nd in her age category in a time of 14mins 53secs to win the second spot medal.
In the senior U20 Mens race, U20 athlete Mathew O’Brien finished in 83rd position in 14-24mins/secs and Silver Medal position went to M50 Rob McLellan (14-40). Other placing were 175th John Murray (16-39), 195th Mark Cathro (17-40), 196th Kieran McLaughlin (17-45), 210th Stephen Wilson (19-03), 219th Tony Hall (19-50).
The previous day in the Jimmy Irvine Bella 10k race, Simon Sheridan was the first finisher for the club in 32nd position in a time of ( 36-42 ). Other times: 38th David Dickson SBT ( 37-17 ), 70th George Lambie ( 39-27 ), 119th Norman Baillie ( 41-33 ), 230th Jennifer Duru ( 46-08 ), 283rd Tony Hall (47-58), Ann Clanachan ( 50-31 ). A total of 520 runners completed the race.
And onSunday, November 2 seven runners completed The Southside Six road race, which took in 6 of Glasgow’s Parks covering a distance of 16 miles.
First home for the club in 25th position was Athole Smith in a time of ( 01-48-35 ), 78th David Campbell ( 02-01-18 ), 106th Katie White ( 02-07-02 ), 186th Theresa Miln ( 02-20-29 ), 194th Ann Clanachan ( 02-23-03 ), 195th David Hamill (02-23-07 ), 217th Paul Coia ( 02-28-41 ). A total of 293 runners completed the coarse.
At last months 3k on The Green, at the McLellans Arch on Glasgow Green, Garscube woman Jennifer Duru was 39th in a time of 12mins 12mins.
