FORMER West second row player Richie Gray is one of only three Scots to have been selected to tour Australian with the Lions Tour.

Warren Gatland selected the 6ft 10in player to join his 38 man Lions squad.

Gray played lock for the Burnbrae side in 2008/9 before joining Glasgow.

The former Kelvinside Academy pupil has been capped for Scotland 31 times since his first appearance in 2010.

He left the Warriors last year to move to the Sale Sharks.

In reaction to his selection Gray said: “It’s been an anxious couple of weeks but I’m delighted, chuffed to bits.”

David Wilson, who coached Richie while at school, said: “We are thrilled that Richie has been selected for the squad and wish him every success.”

The three Tests against the Wallabies will take place across the final two weekends in June and the first weekend in July.
