Campsie Black Watch 3

St Peter’s 2

Black Watch could not have asked for a better start to this game going ahead in the second minute.

Jordan McGuire played the ball on the left to Wright, who passed to McGrotty, he stepped past defender McDonald to beat keeper Woods from close in.

Watch were threatening with every attack, but it did not happen.

Both sides were producing outstanding play with defences at their best.

The quality of play was first class and it did not look as if a slender goal lead would be sufficient to take the points.

Watch were still ahead at the interval, but Saints were always a threat and equalised in the 48th minute.

A free-kick from the right headed across goal by Hewitt saw Smith head past keeper Murray.

The game was on a knife edge and Saints were always dangerous with their quick inter-passing.

The goal that saw them go in front came from a brilliant run from their central defender, who took the ball out of defence, raced past Watch players from his own half and played in Bannerman to net from 12 yards.

In the 75th minute Watch equalised. A corner from McGrotty on the left was headed out by a Saints defender, which saw Savarese, on the 18 yards mark, volley an unsaveable strike high into the net.

The winning goal that brought much relief to the Campsie camp came in the 85th minute.

Keeper Rhys Murray’s long kick-out saw Conor Kelly slip past the visiting defence. His first shot at goal saw keeper Woods partially save, but when the ball came back to the striker he calmly netted.
