WITH the new golf season now underway Douglas Park Golf Club is celebrating a three month renovation project on three of its greens.
Because part of the course is on the Antonine Wall World Heritage Site, the club had to call in a specialist archeological firm to oversee the project.
Previously there had been drainage problems on the 12th 13th and 15th holes and it is estimated to have cost a five figure sum to complete all the work.
Club captain Ian Letford, said: “The completion of the final three greens means that Douglas Park Golf Club now boasts the best course, and in particular the best year-round greens, in the Bearsden and Milngavie area.
“We continually strive to provide our members with the best facilities and this investment in the course will pay dividends for many years.
“I want to record my thanks to our members for making possible the funding of the renewal of the greens.”
