Couple compete in Aviemore

On Sunday the Garscube couple of Peter and Caroline Dow competed in the Aviemore Half Marathon.

Peter finished in 220th position in a time of (1-44-77) and Caroline was 534th in a time of (2-01-00).

A total of 36 Garscube athletes competed in The Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run on Sunday October 5. In the 10k event first home for the club in 39th position was junior athlete Mathew O’Brien in a time of (36-43).

Just behind him in 40th place was Simon Sheridan with the same time of 36-43. Other times were: 111th Paul O’Brien (39-55 ), 122nd Sevie Kilpatrick (40-07), 266th Malcolm Booth (42-14), 268th Diane Clark (42-15), 278th Aileen Wilson (42-21), 536th Sean McAneny (44-54), 543rd Karen McIlvenna (44-58), 651st Stefan Kuhr (45-50), 792nd Paul Coia (46-53), 1584th Sam Sheddon (51-00), 3539th Chris Kilshaw ( 58-25), 3942nd Alan Wallace
(59-52).

In the Half Marathon 1st finisher for the club in 76th position in a time of (01-18-29 ) was Alan Blair, 178th Paul Elliot (01-24-33), 208th John McLaughlin (01-25-26 ), 210th John McManus (01-25-30 ), 211th in the identical Barry Queen (01-25-30 ), 214th George Lambie (01-25-38 ), 362nd David Campbell (01-39-11), 383rd Scott McPherson (01-29-33), 387th Duncan McKellar (01-29-36 ), 778th Debbi Martin-Consani (01-35-12).

Also on Sunday at the Rock “N” Roll Lisbon Marathon, Nicky Parker finished in 1043rd position in a time of (03-51-15 ), and in the Half Marathon Gordon Boyle finished in 1796th position in a time of (01-53-45 ).

Both runners found it very tough in the extreme temperature.
