Clydesdale Harriers’ race aces in action

CLYDESDALE Harriers’ Hugh Laverty was the second vet over 50 to finish the Stonehaven Half Marathon in 1hr 33mins 46secs over the hilly course.

In the 5k Calderglen Trail Races in East Kilbride, Anne Murray won the ladies race in 19mins 5secs. She then took park in the 10k 10 minutes later to finish as seventh female in 48mins 28secs.

Other times were: Donald Cameron (41.33), Martin King (46.20), Fiona McCue (48.21 and sixth female), Peter Rudzinski (53.25), Colin Gray (59.24), and Marie Rippon (65.50).

The club also wished to congratulate Anne Murray and Pamela McCrossan who were both notified recently that they had won prizes for their age in the Women’s 10k which took place in May. Considering there were thousands running this was a fantastic result for themselves and the club.

Previously in the Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 5k in Clydebank Business Park, Gerry Montgomery was the fastest harrier finishing in 18mins 16secs, followed by Hugh Laverty (19.15), Pamela McCrossan (19.19 pb), Pete Cartwright (19.34), Paul McKendry (20.58), Peter Rudzinski (21.45), Bobby Young (22.09), and Watson Jones (22.25).
