Clydesdale Harrier runners record personal bests

A group of 10 Clydesdale Harriers took part in last Thursday’s third Polaroid 10k Road Race series in Dumbarton.

Fastest Harrier was James Austin (35.39) followed by Kevin Farmer (36.18), Pamela McCrossan (40.20 and 1st vet over 50), Bobby Young (41.05), Paul McKendry (41.39), Gus Cairney (43.09), Stephen McKee (47.22 pb), Watson Jones (47.41), Colin Gray (48.32), and Evelyn McKee (51.14).

On the Wednesday was the Kilpatricks Hill Race which was approximately six miles. Fastest Harrier was Michael Divers who finished in a time of 55.20, followed by Martin King (58.44) and Hugh Laverty (59.30).

On Sunday May 25 were The Edinburgh Marathon and half marathon. In the marathon fastest Harrier was Robert O’Neill (2.56.16 pb), followed by Brian Gallagher (2.58.32 pb), Alistair Greig (3.28.32 pb), Shirley Greig (3.38.25), and Marina McCallum (3.39.20). In the half marathon Bryan Powell had a good run to finish in a time of 1.36 pb.

Finally the previous day had four members of the club travelling to Kirkudbright to run in the half marathon. Over a hilly course fastest Harrier was Hugh Laverty (1.38.51), followed by Stephen McKee (1.51.37), Evelyn McKee (1.51.37 pb), and Tricia Stevenson (2.02.14).

This Sunday, June 8, is the fourth and final run in the Polaroid 10k Road Race Series at the Vale of Leven at 10am, and also the first CSSL meeting (track and field) at Wishaw.
