Catriona top runner for Garscube

YOUNG Garscube athlete Catriona Graves was the first club runner to cross the finish line in 17th place with a pb of 19mins 59secs in Saturday’s Glasgow Parkrun 5k race at Pollok Country Park on Saturday.

Other Garscube results were: 39th Rory Stevenson - 21:25 (pb), 91st Tariq Abdullah - 23:58, 129th Stuart Irvine - 26:02, 178th Caroline Dow - 28:45 and 182nd Andrew Bell - 29:09.

A total of 249 runners finished the race.

Meanwhile seven club members took part in the Kirkintilloch Olympians 10k race last Thursday.

John McLaughlin finished 12th in 37mins 56secs followed by 17th Gary Goldie - 38:24, 28th John Murray - 39:17, 34th Bobby Rossborough - 40:16, 35th Scott McPherson - 40:19, 69th Craig Brown - 43:26 and 128th Kieran McLaughlin - 47:55. 246 finished.

In the last of the season’s Polaroid Eyewear series - the Vale of Leven 10k at Loch Lomond Shores, Balloch on Sunday June 12, 28 members took part.

Stephen Mulrine was first home for the club finishing 10th in 34mins 40secs followed by Euan Geddes 11th in 34:51 and Adam Taylor 20th in 35:48.
