DESPITE firing on all cyclinders and making the best start to the league season in 37 years, Jackie McNamara reckons Sunday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final tie at home to Raith Rovers will be a tough one to call.

The Thistle manager said:”We’ve had a great start to the season, but we’re all aware that there’s a long way to go. Winning breeds confidence and the boys are feeling good just now, but we want that to continue.”

McNamara said that Sunday’s Challenge Cup game would be tough against Raith Rovers as they have also had a good start to their season under new new manager Grant Murray.

On the injuries front Kris Doolan and Scott Fox are receiving treatment after last Saturday’s league game against Hamilton Accies, but both are expected to be fine for Sunday. David Rowson is also expected to return to training after missing the start of season with a back complaint.
