Bearsden golfing sensation Ewen Ferguson has been called up to compete in the prestigious Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The 17-year-old former Bearsden Academy pupil will be competing in the four day event which kicks off today (Thursday) at St Andrews.
Ewen said he was delighted to be invited to compete in this year’s event, adding: “It’s going to be a great experience, playing with top pro’s and picking up tips from them.
“My ambition is to go out there, make as many birdies as I can, enjoy the experience and have fun.”
The talented golfer currently plays for the Scottish Golf Union Boys Performance Squad and will be competing alongside some of the world’s top professionals and leading names from the world of sport, music and show business.
So far this year Ewen has racked up a number of golfing achievements, including winning the Scottish Golf Union Boys Order of Merit and the British Boys Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool.
He spent two semesters in the US in 2012 and 2013 where he finished top of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Order of Merit.
And only last month he was a member of the winning Great Britain and Ireland Jacques Leglise Team at Royal St David’s in Wales.
