Milngavie’s Imogen Bankier and her badminton mixed doubles partner Robert Blair step up their Commonwealth Games preparations this month.
The duo are heading to Japan, Indonesia and Australia to compete in three MetLife BWF Superseries tournaments over an intensive three week period.
The first of teh challenge starts on Wednesday in Tokyo when the Scottish Open Grand Prix and Yonex German Open winners tackle the Yonex Japan Open.
However they face a tough start to their tour as Bankier and Blair have been drawn against Germany’s eighth seeds Michael Fuchs and Birgit Michels.
It is the first time the pairs have met but only one place separates them in the world rankings with Bankier and Blair just one place behind the Germans at No.15.
The players are the only Scotland stars playing all three of this month’s Superseries events.
After Tokyo they head to Jakarta for the Indonesian Open Premier event before going to Sydney for Australia’s debut in Superseries.
