Archibald confirmed as interim Partick Thistle manager

FOLLOWING the departure of Jackie McNamara and Simon Donnelly, Partick Thistle directors have appointed Alan Archibald as interim manager to be assisted by Scott Paterson.

There has been intense speculation over the past week regarding the position of manager with a variety of candidates reportedly interested.

The Board of Directors had their first meeting to discuss the situation last Friday and agreed that continuity is key, given the strong league position.

Meanwhile for a second week in a row Thistle have not had a game.

They were due to face Raith Rovers away on Saturday, but following a pitch inspection by the referee the game was postponed because a 20 yard area was deemed too dangerous.
