Allander finish the year on a high

Allander put up a strong fight despite missing their number two player, against a challenging opposition. Ian Turnbull at number 5 put in a determined performance to win and moved ahead in the final deciding game to a 3-2 victory. Jeremy Bushell (number 3) and Phil Graves (number 4) continued to find victory an elusive concept. Jeremy only just failed to win a very close first game and an equally tight second game. Despite grabbing the third game back, he failed to maintain the momentum and lost 3-2. Meanwhile Phil was slow to get moving but his game picked up in the second game and a tight contest looked in the bag in the final fifth game with Phil’s opponent tiring. Phil even had a rare match point but the chance slipped away and he lost the last game 16-14 and the match 2-3.
