WINDYHILL Golf Club held its Tuesday Medal recently. Scratch winner was Tom Coutts with 72 and the SSS and CSS were 69. A total of 44 golfers took part. Results: Tom Coutts 72 (8) 64, Eric Dick 78 (12) 66, Martin Houston 76 (10) 66.

BALMORE Golf Club held their July Medal on Saturday which attracted 79 golfers. The lowest gross was Alan Devine and Colin Gordon with 71. Results: Division 1: Alan Devine 63 (8), Calum Mitchell 66 (8), Colin Gordon 67 (40). Division 2: Niall Jack 65 (18), Robert Newton 69 (14) countback, Michael Jamieson 69 (17) countback. Division 3: Garry Wilkie 69 (26) countback, Chris Preen 69 (24), Dere Malaney 71 (23) countback.

A group of 18 ladies from the club held a Trinket Box competition on Friday. Results: Division 1: Carol Sim (16) 76, Olive Spicer (18) 78, Morag McFarlane (20) 80.

Division 2: Hilary Russell (26) 78, Christine Taylor (30) 79, Norma Wilson (33) 84.

And in the Scottish Ladies’ Golf Association competition on the same day 27 lady golfers took part. Results: Division 1: Carol Sim (16) 69, Gayna McGreish (10) 76 (acb), Enid Young (10) 76 (acb), Division 2: Gillian Sangster (21) 74 (acb), Joan Jamieson (24) 74 (acb), Kathleen Perfect (27) 81.

CLOBER Golf Club held its Elder Trophy at the weekend. Results on Saturday were: Stuart Nicol: 65 (5) 60, Douglas Craig 67 (6) 61, 2nd class: Iain Morton 74 (12) 62 (bih) Phil Murphy 73 (11) 62. 3rd class: Angus McClymont 82 (19) 63 William Dolan 84 (20) 64. On Sunday the results were: 1st class: George McGrade 70 (9) 61, Greig Hedley 68 (6) 62. 2nd class: Iain Morton 73 (11) 62 (bih) Gavin Lyons 73 (11) 62: 3rd class, Gordon Cunningham 80 (19) 61 John Cusick 85 (19) 63 (bih).

The Elder Trophy Winner was Iain Morton with 62+61=123. The Bob Fleming Memorial Trophy Gross Winner was Gavin Roger with 69+65=134.

Finally, in the Tuesday Medal Gary O’Neil was first and the runner-up was Kerr McFarlane.

MILNGAVIE Golf Club held its Gents’ Greensome for the Australian Trophy on Saturday. Results: David Muir and Andy Burnside 71 (11.2) 59.8, Robert Burnside and Nicholas Burnside 77 (14.2) 62.8 and Raymond McKeown and Ewan MacGregor 73 (9.4) 63.6 bih. The team of Alan Foggo, Eddie Macleod, Graeme Molloy and Ken Prior won their second round tie of The Dumbarton Golf Union interclub competition at Dumbarton Golf Club three up at the end.
