MILNGAVIE in Bloom has applied for funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to create a seating area at Park Road sheltered housing complex in Milngavie.
The housing, on an open grassy area with trees, has very few seated areas for residents to use during the summer.
One of the residents, Betty Clark, said: “We’d really like somewhere we can sit and relax and have social get-togethers in the open air.
“There is an area in the complex which would be ideally suited to having a permanent seated area.
“We have a circular metal seat which could be placed around one of the trees but we need funding to pay for the ground to be prepared.
“We like playing outdoor games such as petong and quoits and having a permanent sitting area in an attractive location would be greatly appreciated.”
