Your chance to join Olympic torch singalong

SINGERS are being invited to go along to workshops to be in with a chance of performing in front of the crowds when the Olympic torch comes through Bearsden next month.

East Dunbartonshire leisure and culture trust has organised the fun sessions for adults who are interested in singing in the lead-up to the offical Olympic torch relay in Bearsden on Saturday, June 9.

A spokesperson said: “Why not go along and join choral director and singing teacher Bryan Marshall?

“This is a great introduction for anyone who wants to blow the cobwebs off their voice box or even try being part of a group.

“If you enjoy the workshop and want to do more singing, you could even go on to rehearse with the regional choir group who are already rehearsing to sing as the official Olympic torch passes through Bearsden.”

Family and friends are invited to hear the results at the end of each day at a mini concert at 4pm.

The workshops will be held on Saturday, May 19, in Caldwell Halls, Torrance and Saturday, May 26, in Lenzie Hall, Lenzie.

They are drop-in but if you want to book a place contact culture@eastdunbarton.gov.uk or phone 0141 777 3090.
