Twenty three local young people took centre stage at a special awards ceremony held recently to celebrate their wide ranging achievements over the past six months.
The young people are all part of the Positive Alternatives Spring School Leaver’s and JET (Job’s, Education, Training) programmes which offers young people a range of opportunities and support to help them do well in life.
The aim of the East Dunbartonshire-wide project is to support young people into employment, education, training and/or volunteering.
More than 110 certificates were awarded to young people at the event.
Provost Una Walker said: “The young people have worked hard to achieve these awards and their success should be celebrated.
“The Positive Alternatives project offers the young people such a variety of activities and experiences to enable them to build up their skills and confidence and to help them make choices about what they want to do in the future.
“Well done to everyone who was honoured and well done to the staff who support the young people so well.”
