THE Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie showcased some of the best new art in the area with the launch of an exhibition last Friday.
This year’s Class Acts Exhibition is organised by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust (EDLC) in partnership with the area’s eight secondary schools.
Students were showing work they had completed for their Higher Art examinations as well as some S3/4 work.
Now in its third year, it has become one of the highlights of the school term allowing proud families of the pupils, as well as members of the community, the opportunity to admire and enjoy the artwork in a professional gallery setting.
Councillor Stewart MacDonald, chair of EDLC, said: “It’s wonderful to be able to appreciate the hard work and talent of individuals looking to achieve their Higher Art, but to see the collective submissions from all eights schools in East Dunbartonshire is quite spectacular.
“Class Acts celebrates the tremendous talent of young people in our area and it is here in the Lillie Art Gallery for the whole community to enjoy. It’s not one to be missed.”
The Class Acts exhibition runs from Friday November 16 until Thursday December 20 and entry is free.
The Lillie Art Gallery is closed Monday and Sunday.
