BIKERS from Milngavie have raised £6,300 over the past three years for Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.
The members of motorbike club Alba Wings are all Honda Goldwing owners and they display their bikes to the public at Dobbies in Milngavie every year in return for a donation to their chosen charity - Yorkhill.
Alba Wings representative, Janet Mawer from Falloch Road, Milngavie, said: “We feel we are the lucky ones to have these lovely bikes and to be able to go out for a ride or away for camping weekends when we choose.
“It’s nice to be able to help people less fortunate than us and using the bikes to achieve this is a very happy bonus.
“We have had great support and very welcome donations from people in the surrounding areas.
“On behalf of our members I wish to thank everyone who has dropped money in our buckets, they can rest assured that every penny is handed over to Yorkhill.”
The gran of four added: “Also thanks to Jonathan Sykes, Dobbies manager, for his support.
“We are so grateful that he’s allowed us to display our bikes and collect money in buckets at the store.”
Community fundraising manager at Yorkhill, Kirsten Sinclair, said: “We’d like to thank the Alba Wings members for all their support. We are eternally grateful for their contribution, it is a huge help.”
