IT’S the time of year when we’re all looking forward to festive wining and dining and we’ve got a special treat for Herald readers - thanks to our friends at the Burnbrae pub and restaurant in Bearsden.
This week we’re kicking off our festive meal competitions when we’ll be offering super prizes at the Burnbrae.
Prize for the first five weeks will be a meal for four to the value of £50 and our final and sixth week winner will receive a table for six meal on New Year’s Day. All prizes food only.
It’s exciting times at the Burnbrae with an extension due to be completed this week and manager Gerry Savage is looking forward to seeing old and new customers in the coming months.
There will be no lack of festive spirit as Christmas Day and Hogmanay have both been fully booked for some time now.
New food and wine menus are now available with a Christmas Fayre two-courses menu available for £9.99 and four courses for £15.99.
The Burnbrae, on Milngavie Road, is open on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, serving food from 12noon till 8pm on both days.
Gerry is delighted with the extension which will provide 40 new tables and said: “This will dramatically cut the wait that we have for tables and allow us to continue to develop the Burnbrae as the key dining out destination within the Bearsden and Milngavie area.
“We are now able to acccommodate more guests and large group bookings.”
The Burnbrae had a stand at the BBC’s Good Food Show at the SECC, Glasgow, last month and it was just as popular as the Nick Nairn Cook School and other attractions.
Visitors to Gerry’s stand tasted the excellent steak pie dish that is served in his premises as well as sampling some Belhaven beers.
See this week’s Herald for full competition entry details.
