The latest White Lily fundraiser cleared £15,000 - with all the money will go to research and diagnostic equipment in the war against cancer.
And after the success of the event, a ladies dinner is now set to be an annual fixture in the White Lily calendar.
The dinner, held in the Moat House at the end of October, was organised at the request of supporters of White Lily - and they want more!
Charity founder Angela Bruno and her committee intend to ensure that’s exactly what happens.
She said: “The need for funds is as great now as when I started the charity nearly 20 years ago.
“The heartening thing though is - women are winning. Many of Lily supporters have themselves had cancer or it has touched someone they love and they are determined to do what they can to help others win their battle. It’s thanks to them that the charity has been so successful”
At the recent dinner, former cancer sufferer Leigh Buchanan was delighted to hand over a cheque for over £4,300 - delighted because she was well enough to take on the Great Scottish Run with friends in a fundraising bid for White Lily.
Britain’s Got Talent finalist Eddie Reid entertained at the cabaret style dinner which was compered by STV presenter Josie Smith and from the opening with a champagne reception to the close - the night was fun-filled with the serious business of raising more cash for the Fund.
Hospital consultants regularly appear at White Lily events to update patrons on how they use the White Lily cash to fund research and diagnostic equipment.
The next fundraiser on February 1 next year is a Fizz and Fish night in Bearsden Town Hall. For £19.50 guests will get a glass of fizz on arrival, a fish supper, a dessert - and a fun filled night of music and laughter.
A great way to chase away the winter blues in a great cause.
Tickets will be available nearer the time from Romy’s and Beauty Within, both at Hillfoot, Beasden.
To date, the Fund has raised more than £1million.
