EAST Dunbartonshire Council is hosting a Wellbeing Awareness Week promoting next Friday October 12 from 10am.
It takes place at Bearsden Baptist Church and there are two main features of the day.
The first is a talk from Tommy Whitelaw, a full-time carer who campaigns to raise awareness of the issues surrounding dementia and he will show a short film provides an insight to the challenges faced by those caring for those with dementia.
In the afternoon, at 2pm, the one-woman play entitled ‘Home Run’ will be performed. The play was originally commissioned by the Scottish Drugs Recovery Consortium in 2011 and is about hopes, dreams, letting go, moving forward and the struggle of drug recovery.
Information stalls providing literature on different areas of mental health and wellbeing will be placed around the halls.
