Well done Milngavie in Bloom

MP Jo Swinson has congratulated Milngavie in Bloom after they scooped two prestigious prizes in this year’s Keep Scotland Beautiful awards.

They received the New Entrant Trophy and silver medal certificate for the large town category.

Ms Swinson said: “This is a brilliant and well-deserved result for the Milngavie in Bloom team, who have brought a delightful array of plants and flowers to the town. From engaging with local groups and attracting volunteers, the team has shown that by working together, communities can transform a town. This award is testament to their tireless work putting the colour back into Milngavie.”

Milngavie in Bloom needs volunteers to take part in a Clean Sweep litter pick up today (Friday) and a gardening work day on Saturday. Both meet outside the Fraser Centre in Milngavie at 10am.

Anyone who is interested in Milngavie in Bloom can also go along to the group’s AGM on Thursday, September 29 at 7pm in the Fraser Centre followed at 7.45pm with a talk by Willie Yeoman on ‘the River Clyde Foundation and the River Allander’.
