A MAN who uncovered a deadly firearms haul in Bearsden has spoken out - saying ‘I’m no gangster, I’m just an ordinary dad who tried to do the right thing’.

Jeff Kearns says he and his three pals who live on Kessington Farm have been subjected to name-blackening innuendo from neighbours and through sensational tabloid newspaper reports.

He has spoken frankly to the Milngavie and Bearsden Herald in a bid to clear their names - and has told of the torment he and his family have gone through since making the find.

Mr Kearns said: “We are not gangsters or criminals, we are just normal, working class guys with kids, who did the right thing by going to the police straight away.”
