Liz Walker from Ashburn Road in Milngavie was the lucky winner of our Mother’s Day Competition.
Liz (61) a mum of four received her prize - flowers from Bluebell Wood florist in Milngavie - from shop owner Anne Marriott.
She was nominated by her youngest daughter, Lucy (17), who is currently helping out with the lambing on a farm in Perthshire so hasn’t been able to spend much time with her mum.
She was delighted that her mum was picked as the winner which had a prize of a cut and blow dry at Milngavie popular Capelli hair salon as well as the beautiful bouquet of hand-tied flowers.
Liz said: “I think my daughter wanted to spoil me as she’s not been around much lately.
“It was a wonderful surprise - I didn’t even know she had entered me.
“This was a difficult Mother’s Day for me as it was the first one without my own mum.
“Winning this has made it the best Mother’s Day ever - it really cheered me up.”
Owner of Bluebell Wood, Anne Marriott, said: “Liz is a deserving winner and I’m glad my flowers helped to put a smile on her face. It’s nice to make someone’s day for them.”
